How to Save Pounds in London Town

Tower Bridge London

Travelers on a budget

Many students and travellers nowadays love to inter-rail around Europe; this can be one of the great ways for you to backpack around Europe and have the true travelling experience. When you are travelling, I'm sure you will be looking to save a few pennies here and there, in doing this by staying in some of the youth hostels in London for example you will save some money as well as live in a fun, safe and friendly environment. Many students and travellers stay in hostels so you will have the chance to meet new people who are on a similar journey to you and you will be able to share your ideas about some of the best places to visit while on your travels. Within Central London there is plenty to see and do, for example:

Shopping - This is always popular as London is known in the fashion world for having some amazing shops and fashion events.

Theatre - London boasts one of the top places for musicals and plays, hit the West End and show, it wont disappoint. Some of my favourites include Wicked, the Phantom of the Opera and Billy Elliot.

Bars and Restaurants - London is a vivacious and vibrant city with plenty to offer in the way of nightlife, there are some amazing restaurants and bars to experience. Pick a London guide book to see where the current hotspots are.

Travelling - Even around greater London and further out there are some beautiful places that you can visit, for example Surrey, which is known for its beautiful countryside. As well as this you have the Eurostar at your disposal, so you can always pop to Paris for the weekend.

Whether you are studying abroad, travelling or living in London you will never be bored, there are plenty of attractions to visit during the day and there are so many places to go to in terms of nightlife. For example at Clink hostels they have their own bar for a more social experience but be sure to venture outside as well. There is so much for you to see and experience.

London Eye and Houses of Parliament

Don't go wild!

Of course while you are in London you will soon realize that your money goes faster than you would like, but don't worry, there are plenty of museums and exciting attractions that are free. The Natural Science Museum has free entrance and is actually a lot of fun! There are also plenty of cheap restaurants and bars which offer student prices or if you fancy a take away then try eat.co.uk, which has a range of services for you to choose and order your food.

Don't forget to truly enjoy the British experience by having tea and cake in a tearoom or enjoying bangers and mash at your local pub. Live up to the English stereotypes and experience the true culture and traditions. If you can, be cheeky and make friends with one of the locals and try and get an invite to their house for a Sunday roast, this is the best way to enjoy it. Although, if this isn't possible, then a roast at the pub is always a good option.

While you are living the high life in London, make the most of it, be open- minded and try new things; you will have the most amazing time of your life.
